9 Way How to Expel Foot Odor


Foot odor problem is very annoying and sometimes make people feel inferior. Foot odor can happen to anyone, so you must know how to anticipate them.



According to American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the problem of  unpleasant aroma in the legs usually caused by bacteria and fungi in the shoe, which enter through the skin. But you don't need to worry, because this problem could be overcome with some creative ideas below :

1. Use antiperspirant on your feet

Antiperspirant is used to narrow the pores of the skin, so it will reduce the perspiration. Antiperspirants can be used not only to overcome the odor in the armpits, but can also be used for the soles of the feet.



Antiperspirants work to block the channel leading to sweat glands. This helps prevent sweat reaches the skin and helps reduce odors.

2. Wash the feet with water and baking soda

Add a little baking soda to soap and water when you wash your feet. Baking soda will not reduce sweating, but can reduce the amount of odor produced. Besides using it to wash your feet, baking soda can also use to to wash your shoes and socks. Baking soda will help absorb some of the unpleasant odors.

3. Zinc and Magnesium supplements

Mineral deficiencies can cause many symptoms, including one that may surprise you. Deficiency of certain minerals, like zinc and magnesium, can cause body odor, according to scientists at Columbia University. You can increase zinc in your diet by eating foods such as beef, salmon, pumpkin seeds and yogurt. Source of magnesium in food can be found in brown rice, black beans and almonds. But before taking supplements, you should talk to your doctor first.

4. Wear cotton socks

If foot odor has always been a regular problem for you, use socks when you wear shoes. Without socks, sweat on the feet usually will go directly touch the shoe. Socks will help absorb sweat and can reduce bacterial growth in the shoe. Socks made of cotton or wool is the best choice, because both these materials absorb sweat better than nylon socks. Make sure your feet are completely dry before swearing socks. Wearing wet socks can cause your  damp and trigger unpleasant smells.

5. Use anti acne soap with 10 percent Benzoyl Peroxide 

The bacteria are the main reason that cause foot odor, use anti acne bacterial soap seems will help. Look for anti acne soap with benzoyl peroxide content of 10 percent, which can reduce the bacteria. Benzoyl peroxide works by slowly releasing active oxygen which also has  bacteriostatic effect, keratolytic effect and support the drying effects to remove the odor.

6. Put the dryer paper into a shoe

Placing dryer paper in the shoe may seem strange, but it can help absorb foot odor. Dryer paper will help eliminate odor and keep your shoes smell fresh.

7. Use mouthwash

Mouthwash not only can make the breath fresh, but can also be used to keep your feet not too smelly. Soak your feet in water mixed with mouthwash once a day. Mouthwash will help remove bacteria from your feet, in the same way as killing bacteria in the mouth. If this is quite strange for you, consider rubbing the legs with cotton soaked in mouthwash.

8. Marinate the legs with cornstarch

Prior to wear socks, you can sprinkle cornstarch on the feet. Cornstarch  help to absorb the sweat, which causes the odor. Make sure your feet are completely dry before moisten it with cornstarch and do not forget to apply it on the sidelines of the toes.

9. Replacing the shoe as often as possible

Replacing the shoe as much as possible can help reduce the odor in the feet. At least, try to avoid wearing the same pair of shoes two days in a row. When your shoes are wet from sweat, it takes several hours to completely dry.
