The Risk of Detox Diet


Many people who follow detox diet claim that they experience significant changes in their body within a few days. Despite this diet method is very popular, some experts suggest that detox diet should be avoided.

Some experts criticize that detox treatments can cause very serious side effects if it was not done properly. They said that detox diet mechanism has not proven scientifically. Nutrition experts believe that detox diet is only able to provide temporary change in a person's weight, which means the effect will not last long. In short time, people who have tried this diet eventually return to their initial body weight because they have been returned to their original eating habits.



Detox diet is believed to be a real solution because our bodies need to survive from poisons or toxins that can damage our health, even though this belief is rejected by some nutritionists and medical experts. Many of them believe that human body is completed with internal system that can fortify yourself against poison / toxin. This defense system is comprised of liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. Experts say that as long as our body systems work properly, then there is no reason to do detox diet.

One thing that is approved by the nutritionist in detox diet, we should consume fluids, fruits and vegetables in sufficient quantities. Because most people do not realize the importance of water and vegetable. The results of detox diet may can be seen only two day after doing the diet, but the weight will come back only in a short time. Short duration of effect of this strict diet is not worth the effort required. Some people who have tried this diet has been claimed that this diet really torture them.

People who oppose this diet method claim that both men and women in good health will able to survive in routine exercise for long time, although not everyone may be in pretty good shape to do this. Some groups of people may have unfavorable effects of this diet, such as children, weak adolescents, pregnant women, lactating women, the elderly, and individuals who have heart problems with other chronic conditions. Their condition makes their digestive tract vulnerable and it will interfere heart as the effect of the diets.

In summary, many nutrition and health experts who believe that doing a detox diet is difficult decision that must be considered before actually doing it. No one is willing to take risks to jeopardize their health by losing weight rapidly. Unusual diet, such as detox diet, should be the last choice of the various alternatives of diet that can be done.
