List of Junk Food Foods based on WHO

The term junk food is frequently heard, but when asked what criteria and types of foods that can be categorized as junk food, just a few people can answer it. Junk Food is the food that is claimed unhealthy (junk) because contain a lot of fat, low fiber, high calorie, high in salt, low in nutrients and vitamins, and contain addictive substances.  


WHO (World Health Organisation) insert the following foods in the category of junk food :
  • Fried Foods
    Various types of fried foods have high calories, fat from oil and high oxide can be the cause of coronary heart disease. In the process of frying it often formed carcinogenic substance that causes cancer.
  • Pickle Food
    Salting process causes the amount of salt contained in food is raised. This makes the kidneys work hard. Hypertension are also threatened from the consumption of these foods. These type of food can also cause inflammation of stomach and intestines.
  • Fatty meats and bowel
    These foods is number one heart disease cause.
  • Instant noodles
    High salt content, low in vitamins and minerals, causing instant noodles in junk food category. 
  • Frozen sweet dish
    For example : various types of ice cream. These foods contain high butter that can causes obesity. High sugar levels lead to decreased appetite, as well as low temperatures thereby affecting the intestine.
  • Grilled Foods
    Foods that grill too much, until you see the traces of charred and black very dangerous because it contains carcinogenic that  triggers cancer.
